Renovation Works: Ancient pagodas and temples renovated in Bagan

Bagan is one of the World Heritage Sites in Myanmar. Various forms of Bagan Era arts and crafts can be observed in this ancient city. In addition, the arts and crafts from the late Bagan period such as Pinya, Innwa, Nyaungyan and Kaungbaung Eras can also be studied there.

Possessing these ancient heritages, Bagan attracts many visitors from local and abroad. Now is the open season, the best time to visit this ancient city, and many visitors came to visit Bagan and observed the ancient heritage while enjoying the natural scenic beauties.

There are over 3,800 ancient pagodas and temples in Bagan, and renovation works are being carried out at some pagodas and temples to prevent from being damaged and destroyed due to the natural disaster. At present, the renovation works are being carried out at Pagodas No. 588, 658, 537, 449, 798 and 801. The renovation works include removing the stumps, replacing the brick, and cleaning the dust from wall paintings and plaster works.
