Rendering humanitarian aid: Union Minister receives ICRC Resident Representative

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win received a delegation led by Resident Representative of the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) to Myanmar Ms. Elena Ajmone Sessera at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday afternoon.

On the occasion, they discussed rendering humanitarian assistance through ICRC, IFRC and MRCS for those who need humanitarian aid because of social conflict in Rakhine State, assistance of ICRC in the COVID-19 response measures in Rakhine State, providing assistance to internally displaced people from February 2021 to date by the Ministry’s budget with the use of 114 billion kyats, humanitarian tasks being undertaken by the ICRC and Myanmar Red Cross Society, plan to sign regional agreement between the Ministry of Health and the ICRC to cooperate the tasks in Rakhine State,  ICRC's prosthetic fitting programs for mine victims and cooperation in humanitarian tasks between the Ministry and the ICRC.
