Religious Occasion: 3,600 oil lamps offering ceremony at Maravijaya Buddha Park

On 16th October, 3,600 oil lamps offering ceremony was held at the platform of the Maravijaya Buddha Image, the tallest sitting Marbel Buddha Image in the world, established in the Buddha Park, situated in Deckkhina Thiri Township of the Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw.

The ceremony was attended by Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo and wife, Nay Pyi Taw Council members, departmental officials, Wut Associations, members of sangha as well as the pilgrims across the nation.

During the ceremony, members of sanghas and the pilgrims paid homage to the Maravijaya Buddha Image, offered oil lamps, recited paritta suttas and religious prayers, making a tour to religious complex in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Park.

It’s learnt that 9,000 oil lamps offering ceremony and hot air balloon releasing ceremony will be held at the platform of the Maravijaya Buddha Image under the supervision of the Nay Pyi Taw Council on the Fullmoon Day of Thadingyut.
