Religious Matters: SSMN Sayadaws receive Laotian monk

4 State Sangha MahaNayaka Sayadaws led by Secretary of the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee, Presiding Patron Sayadaw of ThanlyinMinkyaung Monastery AggaMaha Pandita AggaMaha SaddhammaJotikadhaja DrBhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa met with Sangha Raja Sayadaw of Laos, Most Venerable Bounma Simmaphom and party who came to attend the consecration ceremony of Maravijaya Buddhaimage at the MahaNayaka Hall on ThiriMingalarKaba Aye Hill in Yangon on Sunday.

In his welcome speech, the Presiding Patron Sayadaw of ThanlyinMinkyaung Monastery stressed that Laos and Myanmar are working in cooperation for flourishing of Theravada Buddhism. He added that the qualified monks and laypersons are welcomed to learn Pariyatti lectures at the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University in Myanmar.

After that, the Sangha Raja Sayadaw of Laos expressed his delights for the opportunity to meet with State Sangha MahaNayakaSayadaws. He also expressed gratitude for providing Pariyatti literature to the Laotian monks at the university, and conferring the religious titles by the Chairman of State Administration Council. 

He wished for the long-term sustainability of Theravada Buddhism for both countries.After that, the Sangha Raja Sayadaw of Laos and party donated the offertories to the State Sangha MahaNaya kaSayadaws.
