Religious Matter: Gold foil offering at Botahtaung Pagoda

On February 27th, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, along with the Patron of the Committee for offering golden robe in full circumference of Botahtaung Pagoda, Yangon Region Government Chief Minister U Soe Thein, and other officials, inspected the gilding of diamond bud, the ornamental vane, and the golden umbrella of the Botataung Pagoda, offering of pure gold sheets, the installation of scaffolding, and the structural integrity of the pagoda.

Initially, Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin and Chief Minister U Soe Thein offered flowers and water to the revered hair relic enshrined Botataung Pagoda.

Following this, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister sprinkled scented water on the diamond bud, the ornamental vane, and the golden umbrella of the Botataung Pagoda performing the ritual of illuminating the sacred light.

Then, the Union Minister heard the report of the Pagoda board of trustee on the performing the ritual of illuminating the sacred light for the pagoda and the Union Minister gave necessary instructions. Till to date, the total donations received for the golden robe offering at the Botataung Pagoda have reached over 9.049 billion kyats, according to the reports.
