Religious Ceremony: SAC organizes Waso robe offering ceremony

The State Administration Council of Republic of the Union of Myanmar organized 2023 Waso robe offering ceremony at Sasana Maha Beikman in the precinct of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday morning.

It was attended by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla. First, the Senior General paid homage to the Buddha image in the building and offered meals in the emerald alms-bowl, fruits, flowers, water and lights.

The Senior General and wife and the congregation received Nine Precepts from Secretary of the State SanghaMahaNayaka Committee Presiding Nayaka of MinkyaungPahtamaPyan Monastery in Thanlyin Dr Bhaddanta Sandima Bhivamsa  and listened to Metta Sutta recited by members of the Sangha.

The Senior General and wife then offered Waso robes and offertories to ThanlyinMinkyaungSayadaw. Later, Vice-Chairman of SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe donated Waso robes and offertories to Vice-Chairman of the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee Presiding Nayaka of SihoPariyatti Monastery in Kyaukme, Shan State Dr. Bhaddanta Sandana Sara.

After that, the secretary of SAC, the joint secretary, Council members and wives, Union level persons, Union Ministers and senior military officers offered Waso robes and alms to members of the Sangha. The congregation then listened to religious sermons delivered by Presiding Nayaka of Siho Pariyatti Monastery Sayadaw and shared the merits gained.

After the ceremony, the Senior General and wife together with the congregation offered day meals to members of the Sangha.
