Religious Ceremony: Preparation measures discussed for Kason Full Moon Day

A work coordination meeting of the leading committee for organizing auspicious ceremonies to mark full moon day of Kason- Buddha Day and working committee by the State Administration Council, was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture on Thursday afternoon.

Chairman of the leading committee, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko said that the full moon day of Kason which falls on 3rd May 2023 is one of the auspicious days for all Buddhists around the world. He added that the Buddha Day Ceremonies will be held in accordance with the National Level with 5 segments like donating offertories and meal to members of the Sangha, organizing symposiums, holding Kason water pouring ceremony, procession by holding candle lights and the religious ceremony.

He also stressed the needs to follow COVID-19 rules and regulations, issued by the Ministry of Health. After that, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Aye Tun reported on preparations and work process which will be carry out for successfully organizing of the auspicious ceremonies. It was followed by a general round of discussion by the respective sub-committees and concerned officials. The meeting ended with the closing remarks by the Union Minister.
