Religious Ceremony: Donating Offertories to 5,555 members of the Sangha

Donors from Viet Nam donated offertories and rice to 5,555 members of the Sangha from Yangon Region. This ceremony was held at Ancient Buddha Statues Prayers Hall in Shwedagon Pagoda on Saturday Morning.

The congregation took Five Precepts from the Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Patron Sayadaw of Thalyin Min Kyaung Pahtamapyan Sarthintaikkyi, and listened to the sermons, recited by the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha.

Next, Chief Minister of Yangon Region U Soe Thein and wife donated cash and offertories to the Chairman Sayadaw of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee. The Chief Minister also donated over 59 million kyats, contributed by the Yangon Region Government for 5,555 members of the Sangha. 

Next, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture U Aye Tun and the Viet Nam Donors donated offertories to the Sayadaws.

After the ceremony, Chief Minister U Soe Thein and wife, Regional Ministers and their wives, members of Board of Trustees and well-wishers, as well as the donors from Viet Nam donated rice to the 5,555 members of the Sangha.
