Religious Affairs: Union Minister makes inspection tour in Bagan

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin  and officials inspected the site selected to build a new multi-purpose town hall in Nayung-U Townhip on Wednesday. During the inspection, the Union Minister heard report before inspecting maintenance of pagodas by the Department of Archaeology and National Museum and the Archaeological Survey of INDIA (ASI), and instructed officials to systematically carry out the maintenance works.

The Department of Building has been carrying out the installation of lightning rods on 11 pagodas including Htilominlo temple, and will continue to work on the rest of the pagodas. After that, the Union Minister and party visited the Ananda Temple and officials reported the carried out activities in accordance with the guidance of SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

And the Union Minister viewed completion of offering plates. In the afternoon, the Union Minister and officials met with the Nyaung-U district level departmental officials and town elders at the Bagan Archaeological Museum, and gave neccessary instructions.

The Union Minister also inspected the re-excavation activities of ancient waterways and lakes in the area and maintenance activities to prevent the pagodas and buildings from flooding. Then, the Union Minister inspected cleaning activities in the area.
