The State Administration Council bestowed State-Level vehicles to the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee Sayadaws during a ceremony held at ThiriMingalaKaba Aye Hill in Yangon Region on Sunday.

The event was attended by Council Chairman and Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. Prior to the ceremony, the Prime Minister paid homage to the Buddha Image in the VijayaMingalaDhammaThabin and made offerings of an emerald rice bowl, fruit, flowers, and water.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Namotasa three times. The congregation, led by the Prime Minister, listened to sermons delivered by the Sayadaws and recited religious verses. In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the significant responsibility of the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee in overseeing the Sasana duties of the state. He highlighted the Committee’s role in guiding the Sangha members in their three Sasana duties: Pariyatti, Patipatti, and Pativedha, as instructed by the Lord Buddha.

The Prime Minister explained that the State-Level vehicles were provided to the MahaNayakaSayadaws to facilitate their Sasana duties more effectively. He expressed his wishes for the Sayadaws to continue their service with peace of mind.

The ceremony included the recitation of OvadaGahta by the Chairman of the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee, Thanlyin Min KyaungSayadaw. Subsequently, the Prime Minister bestowed the State-Level vehicles to the Chairman Sayadaw and the Secretary of the Committee, Mandalay MasoeyeinTaikthitSayadaw, along with other offerings. Joint Secretary and members of the State Administration Council and Union Ministers also presented vehicles and offerings to the Committee Sayadaws.

Attendees further donated offerings to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha. The ceremony concluded with the Sayadaws reciting religious Gahtas and chanting “Buddha SasananCiranTitahtu” three times. The Sayadaws, led by Thanlyin Min KyaungSayadaw and the Prime Minister, then sprinkled holy water on the vehicles.

The formation of nine Sangha sects was initiated at the First Congregation of All Sects of Sangha in May 1980. Among these organizations, the State Sangha MahaNayaka Committee stands as the highest body, dedicated to the purification, flourishing, and propagation of Buddha Sasana.

Following the ceremony, the Prime Minister and party inspected the religious edifices at ThiriMingalaKaba Aye Hill, hostels providing temporary shelter to the State OvadaCeriyaSayadaws and State Central Working Committee for Sangha Sayadaws during their visits, and the upgrading of roads at HanthaThiri Hill.
