Religious Affairs: 2-day meeting of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee

The second-day session of the 13th plenary meeting of the 8th 47-member State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee took place at Vijaya Mingala Dhamma Thabin of Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon on Sunday.

The meeting was attended by members of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee led by the Committee Chairman Sayadaw, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, the director-general of Religious Affairs Department and other officials of departments concerned.

The Committee Chairman Sayadaw presided over the meeting and Joint Secretary Sayadaw acted as the master of ceremonies. This meeting discussed Vinicchayaဝိနိစ္ဆယ and religious and educational affairs. Also, the report on the activities of the second sub-committee of the eighth Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee conducted during its fifth term was approved. Buddhist devotees also offered morning and day meals to the members of the Sangha who attended the meeting.
