Relief Supplies: Provisions for the displaced persons in Rakhine State

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, along with departmental officials, attended a ceremony on the morning of 1st December at the ShweZedi Pagoda hall.

The event was held to distribute rice and relief supplies to the displaced people from 37 temporary camps in Sittwe Township, who had been affected by the conflict.

At the ceremony, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin mentioned that since November 13, 2023, security-related clashes had occurred within Rakhine State. As a result, local residents were forced to temporarily leave their areas and have been living in the camps.

In order to ensure peace and stability in Rakhine State, the Chief Minister emphasized that not only the government and security forces, but also the local people, have a responsibility. He also added that everyone must work together for achieving peace, stability and development of their natives.

He also urged them to become the individuals who can capable of contributing to the welfare of their villages and the state once they returned to their natives. During the event, the Chief Minister and officials provided rice and relief supplies to the displaced people taking refuge in the Internal Displaced Person (IDP) camps.
