A vessel carrying relief supplies left for Sittwe on Friday. The relief supplies included concrete lamp posts, towers, steel bars, electric wires, construction materials, fiber cables, rice bags and instant noddle packages.

These supplies were provided by the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Ministry of Electric Power, Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.

Under the supervision of the Myanmar Port Authority with the arrangement by the Natural Disaster Management Center, the relief items have been loaded onto three vessels at the Myanmar Terminal (TMT) in Yangon since the 16th of May. Plans are underway to send the relief aids to Sittwe after loading them onto the remaining 2 vessels as soon as possible.
