




Hopone Township in Pa-O Self-Administered Zone of Shan State (East) has experienced significant disruptions due to heavy torrential rains and erosion following Typhoon Yagi, resulting in mountain collapses, extensive road damage and uprooted trees.
On October 11th, Chairman of the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone Administration Body U Khun Ye Htwe and relevant officials conducted a field inspection to assess the landslides and debris clearance. During this assessment, they oversaw the mechanical removal of debris along 1.5 miles of the PahKhat-PanKaLar road, 2 miles of the NatSin-PanKalar road, and 1.5 miles of the KyaukKaChar-NatSin-PanKalar road.
Following heavy rainfall since September 10th, Hopone Township has reported 26 fatalities and damage to 264 homes, with extensive destruction of roads, bridges, livestock, and crops across six wards and 30 villages. Relevant officials are actively engaged in restoration efforts to address the aftermath of flooding.
