Relief Measures: Foodstuff Provided To The Flood Victims

Locals in Tar Sut Tein Village of LinKhay Township in southern Shan State faced inundation due to the increase of ThanLwin River water level.

On 24th August, 20 branches of Nam Khone Shan Charity Association made donations to the flood victims.

Chairman, Nam Khone Shan Charity Association (Taunggyi), Sai Htun Myat said “This village was flooded due to the rise of Thanlwin River. When we heard about the news, we came here for donating to the flood hit victims together with 20  branches  of our association and many Sayadaws.”

Representative, Mong Pan Branch said “We donated rice, oil and salt and 100,000 kyat cash assistance to the flood victims with the collaboration of MweTaw Parriyatti Monastery Residing Sayadaw.”

The village is situated at the junction of Thein Creek and ThanLwin River, and was flooded by the surge of the water surface of ThanLwin River.

Flood victim, Tar Sut Tein Village said “104 people from 24 household were affected by the flood. I am very thankful to the Sayadaws and team members for donations.”

The victims were provided with cash assistance and foodstuff including rice, oil, salt, chili, onion, tomatoes, instant noodle packages, ready canned fish, energy drink and purify water bottles. Health treatments were also provided to the flood victims.
