Relief Measures: Efforts for restoration normalcy in flood hit areas

Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, alongside concerned officials, visited the Aung TheikdhiYadanarPon Monastery in Lewe Township on Sunday.

During the visit, they met with flood-affected victims and offered words of encouragement while distributing relief supply boxes donated by the Disaster Management Department.

The Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and party inspected rehabilitation efforts in AlalKyun Village Tract, Lewe Township, where flood-damaged farmland is being restored in coordination with the Agriculture and Agricultural Mechanization Departments. During discussions with local farmers at the briefing hall, the Chairman underscored the urgency of replanting rice and oil crops in affected areas.

The visit concluded with the distribution of paddy seeds and relief packages, including essential supplies for households displaced by the flooding. Upon their arrival at JanitaRama Monastery in Lewe Township, they engaged with flood-affected residents, offering encouragement and distributing essential provisions such as food, clothing and other essential consumer goods. In Sin Thay Village, Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and party conducted an inspection of the sanitation initiatives undertaken by the City Development Committee.

During their visit, they distributed provisions to the participants.In the afternoon, they attended a work coordination meeting at the Nay Pyi Taw Council Office to discuss farmland restoration, seasonal crop plantations, and support for damaged houses.

During the meeting, the Council Chairman received detailed reports on restoring damaged agricultural land, seasonal crop cultivation, sufficiency of water resources for agriculture and the ongoing conditions and planned measures as per the relevant sectors.
