Relief Measures: Assistance for flood victims in Kayah State

On 29th September, Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin accompanied by concerned officials met with the flood victims who are temporarily sheltered at the relief camps opened at Sasana Beikman Taw Gyi, Uttarayone Pariyatti Sarthinteik and Abbot Training Center in Loikaw Township.

There, the Chief Miniser gave words of comfort to the flood victims syaing that government is making exerted efforts to fulfill the needs of the flood victims. He added that the relief items donated by the well-wishers will be distributed to the areas of needs adequately and the necessary school uniforms and stationery are also provided to ensure uninterrupted education process.

The Chief Minister also instructed the systematic safety measures and accomodation of the flood vicitms. As the government will provide necessary assistances, the residents are encouraged to strive to restore normalcy in their respective vocations.

Then, rice bags, edible oil, necessary supplies and over 1.5 million kyat cash assistance were provided for the flood victims. The Chief Minister and party also inspected the catering service areas of the relief camps. Subsequently, the Chief Minister and party inspected the water inflow and resilience of the Belu Creek Crossing Bridge (ShanPine) and inundated wards within the township.
