







Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win visited Thabaung in Ayeyawady Region on Sunday.
During the visit, over 8 million kyat worth provisions were distributed for the flood victims from the relief camps opened in the township. On arrival at Pathein, the Union Minister and party provided over 8.9 million kyat worth relief items to the flood victims, taking shelter at the relief camps.
In addition, more than 58 million kyat provisions for the flood victims in Pathein, Kangyidaung, Yaykyi and Kyaungkone Townships and over 1.5 million kyat worth clothes for the displaced persons were presented to the Chief Minister. They then proceeded to Ngathaingchaung, and provided over 6.2 million kyat worth provisions to the flood victims.
The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement provides over 150 million kyats for the flood victims during this year, along with more than 15 million kyats for the displaced persons.
