RELIEF FLIGHT: 165 MYANMAR CITIZENS BROUGHT BACK FROM MALAYSIA

A relief flight of Myanmar Airways International (MAI) landed at the Yangon International Airport in the afternoon of 23rd September, bringing back a total of 165 Myanmar citizens who were stranded in Malaysia due to the period of international airlines’ flights suspended.

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, Ministry of Health and Sports and local officials helped the returnees for health inspections and arranged for 14-days Hotel quarantine and 7 days home quarantine.

Under the guidance of the ministry of foreign affairs, Myanmar embassy in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia is closely collaborating with the relevant organizations to bring back the undocumented Myanmar citizens and those who are detained in the detention centers in Malaysia under various circumstances to Myanmar by the relief flights as quickly as possible after scrutinizing their identities proved their citizenship and the relief flights have flown for 15 times to date, it is learnt.
