Relief and Rehabilitation: MOALI Union Minister inspects flood hit plantations

Due to Typhoon Yagi and its subsequent rain that triggered floods, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung and Deputy Minister U Bo Bo Kyaw on Thursday conducted field survey for timely restoration of damaged dams, creeks, water pumping stations, and Solar-powered ground water pumping stations.

In the evening, the Union Minister and party inspected cultivation of paddy at monsoon paddy field at BaeGone village of Pobbathiri Township and made instructions on assisting of paddy species and necessary equipment to the farmers for timely replanting of monsoon paddy.

Next, the Union Minister and party inspected repairing works of Sintay water pumping station, Latyar (1) Creek at Sharsae Pho Village, Yezin creeks in Zeyathiri and Pyinmana townships and Solar-powered ground water pumping machines in Tatkone township and coordinated the requirements upon the reports of the locals.

And, the Deputy Minister and party conducted field survey on restoring works of damaged embankment of Min Thar Gyi Lake, retainting wall and damages caused by the spillage of pipe and dam and gave necessary instructions on storage and distribution of irrigated water to 216 acres in normalcy. And, the Deputy Minister met with the local farmers and called for collective efforts of concerned departmental officials for replanting and reproduction of crops.
