Relief and Rehabilitation Measures: Rescue Teams provide assistance for cyclone victims

Relief and rehabilitation measures are being carried out in the areas affected by the disaster. It has been jointly carried out the rescue teams that have been sent to the areas in advance by Tatmadaw, local security forces and social organizations.

At Pyin Phyu Maw Ward in Kyauk Taw, clearing works are carried out at the post primary school. Foodstuff were also provided and the members of Army Medical Corps provided health care services.In Ponnakyun, debris have been cleared at People’s Hospital, and relief items were provided.

Likewise, the rescue teams in Kyauk Taw and Mrauk U distributed drinking water and other relief items. Moreover, collapsed trees along Bagan-NyaungU-Pakokku Road have been cleared by the rescue team in Pakokku. In order to provide relief and rehabilitation works in Maungdaw, Buthidaung and Rathaetaung, clearing works are being carried out along the route.

Members of Army Medical Corps are providing medical treatment to the cyclone hit victims by opening temporary hospital at Sat Yoe Kya Ward in Sittwe in cooperation with the local health staff.
