Rehabilitation Works: Relief and rehabilitation measures in cyclone affected areas

Member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San together with Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin made an inspection tour to Pyi Taw Thar (Sittwe)- Yae Chan Pyin railway road on Friday.

They heard reports on the rehabilitation works of cyclone-affected railway stations along Pyi Taw Thar (Sittwe) rail line, staff housing and buildings under the Myanma Railway and also the situations of railway lines and roads.

They later took the train from Pyi Taw Thar (Sittwe) station to Yae Chan Pyin station and gave necessary instructions to repair the damages in cyclone-hit railway stations.

Then, they visited Technological University (Sittwe), Basic Education High School No.10 at Thet Kay Pyin village and gave necessary instructions.

On arrival at Sittwe Station, the Deputy Prime Minister and party inspected stringing of 11 KV power line by the staff of the Ministry of Electric Power. They then arrived at the University of Computer Studies (Sittwe) and viewed the progress of renovation works.

On the same day, they attended the cash donation ceremony to carry out rehabilitation tasks in cyclone-affected areas at Rakhine State Government Office, and accepted the cash and basic foodstuffs.

They also attended a work coordination meeting on Disaster Recovery, and made discussion on the arrival of relief aids and distribution process, implementions of rehabilitation works and future plans.
