






On 19th September, Chairman of the Work Committee on Rehabilitation of Livelihood, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe and party inspected the flood affected villages due to the heavy rain in Tatkone township, Yamethin District, Mandalay Region.
At the Yamethin District General Administrative Department, the Union Minister met with District Disaster Risk Management Committee members and instructed all relevant departments to work together to expedite the implementation of reconstruction activities. The Union Minister also provided food items including rice and oil valued at 55.745 million kyats.
Next, the Union Minister and party also visited the PyawBwe General Administrative Department and met the township disaster management committee members. They then proceeded to Shawlpyu Kone village flood relief camp and provided food items, including rice and oil, as well as essential supplies for the affected people. Next, they oversaw the damage of inter village road erosion and instructed for systematic implementation of the repair works for resilience against disasters.
Additionally, the Union Minister and Party visited the Agricultural Department in Pyawbwe Township and met with sunflower farmers whose crops were damaged due to the heavy rainfall and flooding. They provided water-resistant sunflower seeds and fertilizers to 60 farmers from three cooperative groups, covering a total of 212 acres of land. They then visited Nyaung Ai Village of Yamethin Townshipand Magyipin and Chaung Gwa Villaes in Tatkone Township and oversaw the damages.
It is learnt that the Nawin River Crossing (ChaungGwa) Bridge at the entrance of Chaung Gwa Village has already been repaired, providing transportation access to the local residents.
