Rehabilitation Tasks: Senior military officials manage rehabilitation works in Rakhine

The State Administration Council issued announcements declaring the designated natural disaster affected areas under Section 11 of the Natural Disaster Management Law and assigned duties to senior military officers to carry out rehabilitation tasks in cyclone-affected areas.

In Kyaukphyu Township, on the 29th of May, Lt. Gen Lu Aye provided foodstuffs, drinking water and health care services to storm-affected people. In order to carry out rehabilitation activities, he also met with the departmental staff, members of the Village tract/Ward Administration and teachers from the Department of Education at the Township Administration Office and coordinated the needs on the reports.

Also, Lt. Gen. Aye Win, who arrived in Buthidaung Township of Maungdaw District, together with the responsible officials, met with the departmental staff and township administrators from 84 village-tracts at the Township Disaster Management hall, provided relief aid and coordinated the needs.

And, in Myebon Township, Brigadier General Kyaw Kyaw Soe, together with the officials and Natural Disaster Management teams coordinated the necessaries for correct damage statistics by the storm at the meeting hall of the Township General Administration Department. Also, health care workers from Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, from the Western Command and from the Ministry of Health are providing health care services to cyclone affected people.

They provided villagers from Kaung DottKha  Village tract and nearby villages with Hypertension, Diarrhea, Osteopath and general diseases treatment. And, Lt. Gen Hpone Myat and Major General Htin Latt Oo and officials assisted consumer goods to the villagers and fulfilled the need. They also inspected the rehabilitation works for the construction of buildings, implementation for temporary shelters and digging wells for drinking water.
