Rehabilitation tasks: Renovation of rural health center in Sittwe

Renovation of the roof of Kyauktan rural health center damaged by cyclone Mocha in Sittwe township, Rakhine State will be undertaken within 2 days, according to the Chairman of Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association-MLCA (Rakhine State) U Kyaw Aye Maung.

He said renovation tasks will be undertaken as quick as possible as the rainy season set in.

Chairman, MLCA (Rakhine State), Kyaw Aye Maung said "We will undertake renovation tasks within two days because the rains will fall. We will renovate the health center, school buildings as quick as possible with the instruction of the Ministry of Construction and Chairman of the Federation."

Currently, renovation of damaged roofs has completed 80 percent. The cyclone destroyed the building of health center as well as documents and office materials, said by head of Kyauktan village health center Daw Khin Win Myint. Now, the health center is giving mobile service and after renovating, it will operate as usual, she added.

Head, Kyauktan village health center, Khin Win Myint said "The repairing works of the damaged roofs will be completed soon. After repairing the roofs, we will run the center as usual."

Normally, the renovation process takes about 15 days but it is undertaking to complete as quick as possible, it will complete in the next 2 days, according to executive member of the Association.

Executive Member, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association, Kyi Soe said "This building is rural health center and the roofs of the building have damaged about 80 percent. For repairing the roofs, generally it takes about 15 days. But, we have arranged to complete renovation tasks within two or three days."

The Myanmar Licensed Contractors Federation and the MLCA (Rakhine State) are renovating rural health centers, universities, high schools and affiliate high schools damaged by cyclone Mocha in Rakhine State.
