Rehabilitation in Rakhine: Senior military officials manage rehabilitation works

Senior military officers have been assigned in Rakhine State under Section 11 of the Natural Disaster Management Law to oversee the progress of rehabilitation works in cyclone-affected areas.

On the 27th of July, Lt-Gen Lu Aye from the Office of the Commander in Chief (Army) and departmental officials who are currently in Kyauk Phyu Township in Rakhine State inspected the clean-up activities in the compound of the ancient historical Kyauk Talone pagoda, Kyauk Talone monastery and other monasteries by the military personnel and their family members and member of the Police Force.

There, he also donated traditional medicines sent by owners of traditional medicine businesses. Then, he paid respects, offered offertories items and day meal to the Sayadaw of Mahabawdhi Tut-O monastery.

Similarly, in Buthidaung Township, Lt-Gen Aye Win together with departmental officials offered Waso robe, offertories items and day meal to members of the Sangha from the 28 monasteries at the community hall in Myothit ward.

He also inspected the water supply conditions of Kandawgyi Lake for the No. 5 Taung ward, and Myoma stadium in Myothit ward for the sports competitions and gave necessary instructions.

In Yanbye Tonwhsip, Brigadier General Zaw Min Aye and departmental officials inspected the clean-up tasks and tree cutting activities at monasteries by local military personnel and departmental officials, and gave necessary assistances.
