Rehabilitation in Rakhine &Chin States: Senior military officials manage rehabilitation works

Senior military officers have been assigned in Rakhine State under Section 11 of the Natural Disaster Management Law to oversee the progress of rehabilitation works in cyclone-affected areas.

On the 24th of July, Lt-Gen Lu Aye from the Office of the Commander in Chief (Army) and departmental officials who are currently in Kyaukphyu Township inspected the clearance tasks along the road to the airfield in Asoeyet ward by the military personnel and relevant officials. He also inspected the field demonstration of growing paddy systematically and the planting of seedlings.

Then he donated a variety of traditional medicines sent by owners of traditional medicine businesses. Similarly, Lt-Gen Aye Win and departmental officials who are currently in Buthidaung Township inspected the supplies and inventory lists in the garage of the department of consumer affairs and gave necessary instructions.

Then, he attended a foodstuffs donation ceremony for 48 village tracts affected by the storm and donated food items to the relevant officials. And, he viewed the food products on sale at reduced prices in front of the U Ottama Hall and gave words of encouragement to the public.

He also attended the public awareness sessions on cleanliness in the township and prevention of dengue fever in the hall of No. 1 Basic Education High School and gave words of encouragement. In Paletwa Township of Chin State, Brigadier General Nay Win Aung and departmental officials visited the Theravada Buddhist Monastery, received the five precepts from the Sayadaw, and offered offertory items.

He also visited the Charity Center for Children and Youth Development in Paletwa Township and donated exercise books. Then, he met with the departmental officials of Paletwa Township at the Township’s General Administration Department, heard reports, and gave necessary instructions.
