Rehabilitation Measures: Rescue and relief works in Rakhine State

Rescue and rehabilitation measures are carrying out at the areas affected by powerful cyclone Mocha. In Sittwe, clearing works have been carried out along Yangon-Sittwe road, at U Ottama Hall and Lawka Nanda Pagoda.

The local security forces and social organizations also took part in distribution of drinking water, tents and tarpaulin sheets. Moreover, members of the Army Medical Corps are providing health care services as necessary.

Member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister, Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San, the Union Ministers, Senior Military officers and officials oversaw the activities and coordinated the needs.

In Kyauk Phyu, relief and rescue measures are provided in the town and nearby areas. The clearing works are also carried out while the relief items are distributed to the victims.

Health care services are also provided by the members of the Army Medical Corps. Likewise, the relief and rehabilitation measures are being carried out in Ponna Kyun, Kyauk Taw and Mrauk U.

The remaining fleet of relief and rescue measures are carrying out the clearing works along the road to Maungtaw, Buthidaung and Rathaetaung.
