Rehabilitation Measures: Efforts for resettlement of displaced persons in Pa-O Villages

The PNLO,KNDF and PDF terrorist insurgents have been launching appalling attacks on Pa-O inhabited villages, named Nant-Huu, Kyaukkachar, Sanphu, PachaKaloand DonliTaung villages in Hopone Township ofShan State (South).

The terrorists committed destructive acts by infiltrating aforesaid villages under the disguise as villagers and using residential homes as bunkers since February 16.

According to the responsible local informers, the Tatmadaw and the PNO transformed local militia forces jointly conducted the necessary territorial enforcement and counter-terrorism operations in these areas, resulting in the terrorists’ retreat with heavy losses.

Upon their retreat, the terrorists intentionally burnt down the residential houses by lawlessly killing innocent civilians and forcibly looting the belongings of the local ethnic groups.

Due to their destructive acts, local ethnic people have been displaced at the safer places. For the resettlement of displaced persons, rehabilitation measures are being carried out in the above-mentioned areas with the cooperation of the Kyaukkachar Security forces, Myanmar Police Force, fire brigade members and PNO transformed local militia forces.

The relevant officials and departmental personnel from Hopone Station of Eastern Command inspected rehabilitation-conducted villages and supplemented the needs. They then met with the ethnic residents and provided house building equipments and assistances.
