







Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win inspected repair of staff buildings damaged by cyclone MOCHA, One stop Women Center for women against violence and met with staffs from the Department of Social Welfare.
During the meeting, Union Minister said the Ministry has been providing the social needs for the whole life of pregnant to elders, to improve the strengths of children and vocational trainings for those who need protection. He urged staffs to perform their duties for the benefits of the people.
In the afternoon, Union Minister together with Rakhine State Chief Minister inspected the basic sewing training school for islam women from Barsar village and gave words of encouragement to them. Next, the Union Minster and party visited the Department of Disaster Management in Rakhine Sate and inspected keeping of relief items.
During the inspection, he urged the staffs to cooperate with other ministry departments to carry out the disaster management activities, to improve the individual’s skills for the benefits of themselves and public. And he gave necessary instructions on systematic maintenance of relief supplies.
Next, Union Minister and party attended a coordination meeting on the rehabilitation works of the Cyclone MOCHA. During the meeting, the Rakhine State Chief Minister and the State Minister of Border Affairs reported matters on the rehabilitations tasks in the cyclone affected areas and reception centers for displaced persons who freed Bangladesh and Union Minister gave necessary instructions.
Then, Union Minister and party inspected Essar port in Sittwe Township, unloading of relief supplies from Yadanar Padaung vessel, renovation of Sittway View Point and strand road in Sittwe. Then, Union Minister and party inspected the Department of Disaster Management, the proposed site for the construction of new warehouse of relief items and old warehouses damaged by Cyclone MOCHA and gave necessary instructions.
