Rehabilitation efforts: Strengthening rehabilitation in cyclone affected areas

The State Administration Council declared the areas damaged by Cyclone Mocha as areas affected by natural disasters in accord with Section 11 of the Natural Disaster Management Law, and appointed senior military officers to carry out rehabilitation activities in the areas mentioned in the announcement.

On 23rd of June, Lieutenant General Aye Win from the Office of the Commander in Chief currently in Buthedaung Township of Rakhine state along with the departmental officials at the U Ottama hall of MyoThit Ward met with departmental officials from the wards and village tracts and he inspected the preparations of the monasteries, schools and health infrastructures and choosing land to construct cyclone shelter and to cultivate the monsoon paddy in time.  He coordinated the requirements upon the clarifications. In addition, He proceeded to the Mya Sein Yaung Monastery of Taung Village and paid homage to the Sayardaw Baddanta Ariyavamsa and provided rice, oil, foodstuff and gas stoves.

Similarly, the major general Aung Myo Tun currently in Rathedaung Township of Rakhine state along with the departmental officials went to the Aung Myay Bawdi Sasana Yeiktha A Lo Taw Pyae Monastery to attend the ceremony of providing rice, foodstuff and construction materials jointly organized by the ATOM and we love Rakhine Team to mark one year anniversary of ATOM. The donation was made at two urban wards and three villages affected by the cyclone.

In  addition, Brigadier General Aung Thu Oo currently in Kyauktaw Township  along with the departmental officials inspected the reconstruction of  State Agricultural Institute-Kyauktaw damaged by the cyclone and coordinated the needs.

Similarly, Brigader General Tin Swe currently in Maungdaw Township of Rakhine state met with the local fisheries entrepreneurs at the Township General Administrative Office and coordinated the necessities upon reports by the entrepreneurs.
