Rehabilitation Efforts: Reconstruction and renovation of damaged houses

The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development is implementing rehabilitation tasks in flood effected areas within Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.

Under the management of working committee on vocational training, renovation and reconstruction of flood effected houses at 3 villages in 2 townships are underway with the donation of CB Bank. On November 21st, Union Minister U Hla Moe along with the concerned officials inspected the completion of working processes at Kwat Thit and Kyun-U villages in Pyimana Township and Aye Myint Thaya model village in Pobbathiri Township where he heard reports by the officials.

Upon the reports, the Union Minister called for concerted efforts of the villagers to preserve long-term durability of the houses and to run their own businesses for increased family income.

He also said that cooperative efforts of departmental officials and villagers are needed for better drainage system at Kyun-U village. Currently, construction to replace 24 collasped houses, along with the renovation of four partially damaged houses in three villages have already been completed, and villagers are already settling there.
