Rehabilitation Efforts: Cash and kind assistance for flood affected community

Provisions and cash assistance were provided to the flood affected community in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkone Township on Friday. Vice Chairman (2) of the National Disaster Management Committee Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win attended the ceremony and explained the government’s assistance for rehabilitation works and the needs for environmental conservation tasks.

During the ceremony, over 1.7 billion kyats cash assistance were provided from the National Disaster Management Fund, and foodstuff. It is learnt that the government provides 2.35 million kyats for each house with total damage while 1.75 million kyat for partially damaged houses.

The Union Minister and party later observed the health care services being provided to the flood affected people, and inspected the renovation of Basic Education Branch High School in Shauk Kone Village as well as the reconstruction of damaged houses with the assistance provided by the National Disaster Management Fund.
