Rehabilitation for cyclone-hit areas: Fire Brigade members from Bago sent to Rakhine

Fire brigade members from Bago Region were dispatched to Rakhine State to carry out rescue and rehabilitation tasks in cyclone affected places.

With the instruction of Bago Region Chief Minister, the Region Fire Service Department has undertaken this program.

Myo Win, Director, Fire Service Department (Bago), said " 116 rescue members will be sent to Rakhine State via Yangon to carry out rehabilitation measures. After receiving guidance by the Chief Minister, they will be dispatched to Yangon and each 1 troop from Yangon, Ayeyawady and Bago Regions will gather in Yangon and with the arrangement of senior officials, they will be dispatched to Rakhine State for rehabilitation tasks."

If the rescue and rehabilitation programs are undertaken promptly in the disaster-prone areas, the affected places will return into normal condition as soon as possible, according to the officials.

Khine Min Zaw, Assistant Director, Bago Region Fire Service Department, said " 116 members are formed in 3 groups and one group is comprised of 35 members and 11 from sub-office. We have collected human force, rescue equipment, ration and all. Rescue operations must be carried out as necessary. We are ready human force and rescue equipment to carry out the tasks because we have already formed rescue team for disaster management in the region."

The members will carry out the public interest tasks including providing necessary assistance to affected people in the disaster-hit areas as much as possible according to the officials of the Region Fire Service Department.
