Regional Meetings: Myanmar delegation participates in 11th AFMGM

Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein attended the 11th ASEAN Finance Ministers' and Central Bank Governors' Meeting, 28thASEAN Finance Ministers Meeting and related meetings in LuangPrabang of Laos People’s Democratic Republic.

On April 3rd. the delegation joined the High Level Meeting on Financial Policy Extension for Climate Change in Southeast Asian Region. The meeting discussed the ways to provide financial assistance for rehabilitation of damages caused by climate change in ASEAN region.

On the 4th, the delegation participated in the ASEAN-EU Business Council, ASEAN-US Business Council and ASEAN Business Advisory Council meetings on separate occasions.

The discussion focused on financial cooperation, plans for ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025 and Strategic Action Plan for financial integration.

The ASEAN Financial Ministers Meeting continued in the afternoon, and the Union Minister took part in the discussion, highlighting the government’s efforts for economic recovery in post-COVID-19 period.

On the 5th, the delegation took part in the 28th ASEAN Financial Ministers Meeting and discussed the Strategic Action Plan and future plans.

The 11th ASEAN Finance Ministers' and Central Bank Governors' Meeting continued in the afternoon with the discussions focused on monitoring and assessment for financial cooperation, implementation of AEC Blueprint 2025, ASEAN Community Vision 2045, establishment of ASEAN Treasury Forum and plans to be carried out during 2024-2025 fiscal year.

It is learnt that Malaysia will host the ASEAN Financial Ministers and Central Governors’ Meeting in coming year.
