Regional Meeting: SAC Chairman receives BIMSTEC delegations

As Myanmar hosts the 4th Meeting of BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs in Nay Pyi Taw, the leaders of delegations from BIMSTEC member states and Secretariat paid a courtesy call to Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at his office on Thursday.

The delegation includes representatives from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand as well as the BIMSTEC Secretariat. During the meeting, the Prime Minister extended a greetings to the delegations, and explained the work undertakings to tackle the challenges through cooperation and coordination.

The delegation discussed the collaboration among the member countries for economic development, peace and tranquility, social needs and communication sector. The discussion also focused on eradication of narcotic drugs, terrorism, human trafficking and cyber security. They also discussed the development situation in Myanmar and preparation measures for holding free and fair multiparty democracy general election.
