Regional investment activities: Sagaing Region Investment Committee meets

Sagaing Region Investment Committee Meeting No.2/2023 was held at the Sagaing Region Government Office on 14th February. Chairman of the Region Investment Committee Sagaing Region Chief Minister U MyatKyaw, the Region Ministers, members of the Region Investment Committee and officials attended the meeting.

At the event, the Region Chief Minister said that the meeting will discuss to extend the construction period of the NCY International Co., Ltd. that is undertaking rice and crop grinding machines manufacturing. The State is providing assistance for the development of MSME enterprises and it is learn that an iron and steel-based production and sale business will be invested in Sagaing Industrial Zone and a rice mill in Shwe Bo.Only when the new investments are entered, will job opportunities be created for the locals.

He called for the secretary of the Committee and committee members to supervise the existing investments for the emergence of investments that have responsibility and accountability. He stressed the needs on finding ways and means for providing technical assistance to local entrepreneurs for producing finished products with under and above ground natural resources.

Later, the Director of the Region Directorate of Investment and Companies Administration reported on progress of the previous meeting decisions, extension of the construction term of the NCY International Co., Ltd for the 1st time and conducting field trips in December and January.

An official of the company reported the machines and equipment that will be developed from the factory. Members of the Region Government and the Region Investment Committee members reported on the investment activities. In response to the reports, the Chief Minister coordinated essentials.
