Regional Forum: Myanmar delegation tours in Tibetan Region

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi arrived at Nyingchi of Xizang Autonomous Region to participate in the 4th China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation.

The delegation later met with the participants for the Forum and cordially discussed matters on conservation of forests and natural environment. In the evening, a welcoming dinner was held in Lulan, and the Union Minister joined the reception together with the participants from various countries.

Prior to the day on the 2nd July, the Union Minister was welcomed at Lhasa Gongga Airport by the Director of Chinese Foreign Minister. During the meeting at the airport lounge, they discussed matters on promoting bilateral cooperation in conservation of forests and biodiversity, tourism development, environmental conservation and human resource development.

In the evening, the delegation enjoyed the Tibet traditional Princess Wencheng Opera at the Open Theater in Lhasa. On the 3rd, the Union Minister visited Tibetan Hilly area, located at 3,700 meter high between the snow-capped mountains and icy rivers.

They took a tour along the hilly area, observing the conservation of hilly grasslands and pasture lands, lifestyle and traditional culture of local Tibetan tribes, their livelihoods, agriculture and livestock works and community-based tourism.
