Regional Development: State Counsellor Visits Training Centers

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on Thursday afternoon visited Vocational Training center under the Ministry of Border Affairs in Pakhokku  Township. The center offers courses for those from rural areas on hospitality, food and beverage and many others.

The State Counsellor said to trainees to apply what they learnt in their regions for increase of family income and regional development. The training center was opened in 2005 December – 623 people completed courses including hotel service and garment making. 

The State Counsellor also viewed furniture made by Thoneyati  Furniture Industry from Pakhokku Industrial Zone. Established in 2017 October, the Industry runs with 122 workers and manufacturers palm and wood-based products. Later the day, the State Counsellor visited free Computer Training Center in Daw Khin Kyi Foundation farm compound in Kyaukpadaung Township of Mandalay Region.

The State Counsellor inquired about learning skills of the trainees and said to them to apply what they learnt in order to serve regions and the nation. The Center was opened in 2017 – 96 people completed free computer courses so far.
