






Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with town elders of Bagan Archaeological Zone and departmental personnel from Nyaung Oo, Pakokku, Myin Chan, Min Buu, and Magwe Districts at the Bagan Archaeological Museum on Sunday.
The Prime Minister discussed the importance of Bagan-NyaungOo area as a tourist destination for both local and foreign visitors, highlighting the need for further development in various sectors, including education, economics, healthcare, transportation, and the rule of law in the region.
He also emphasized the importance of ensuring an adequate water supply for greening the area and preserving the original craftsmanship during renovation works on ancient pagodas and temples. During the meeting, attendees reported their requirements for government assistance in various areas, such as improved transportation and communications, electricity supply, the appointment of healthcare staff, the expansion of school infrastructure, and the establishment of direct aviation services for international commercial flights.
In response, the Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of providing enhanced services to visitors, generation of solar power to meet electricity demands and river water pumping projects for a reliable water supply.
Plans were also discussed to upgrade Pakokku Airport to an international facility, and systematic preparations were called for regarding Nyaung Oo Airport, since it is located within the Archaeological Zone. Afterwards, the Union Ministers and Chief Ministers presented detailed plans for sector-wise implementation. The Prime Minister urged all concerned individuals to collaborate in their efforts towards regional development.
