





Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held a meeting with departmental personnel and townselders in Meikhitla District of Mandalay Region on Saturday.
Attendees reported on development endeavours in social, economic, education and health sectors, as well as the needs for infrastructures, agriculture sector. The Union Minister explained the work undertakings for agriculture development, irrigation facilities and development of textile and garment industry.
The Prime Minister highlighted the strategic location of Meikhtila, serving as a major junction of Myanmar. With the situation of various universities and colleges, the region provides convenient transportation access for trade.
Agriculture and livestock breeding is the major livelihood of Meikhtila, and the Prime Minister emphasized for development of these sector, utilizing good cultivation and breeding methods. He also stressed the need to turn out the qualified human resources for successful implementation of the regional development works. Emphasizing the need to implement green environ, the Prime Minister pointed out the need to establish forest plantations, and solar-powered river pumping system for sufficient supply of irrigated water.
He called for collaborative efforts of all concerned persons for development of Meikhtila by utilizing the existing infrastructures, along with the assistance by the government. After the meeting, the Prime Minister and party took a tour of Meikhtila University and Meikhtila Economic University by a motorcade.
