






Deputy Minister for Construction U Win Pe, together with Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and officials, inspected Myitkyina-PutaO road in Kachin State on 17th September.
On arrival at Ayeyawady River crossing Bala Min Htin Bridge No.2 on Mandalay-Myitkyina Road, officials reported on the progress of construction. The Deputy Minister instructed to complete the tasks as per scheduled time, meeting the set standards.
They then inspected the construction progress of the approach roads on Myitkyina and Bamaw sides. The Bala Min Htin Bridge No.2 is over 3,200 ft long with pedestrian lane on both sides. Its water clearance is 350 ft wide and 26.3 ft high.
It is situated on Ledo Road which connects China and India via Kanpaiktee and Myitkyina, and it is a major route for trading among the neighbouring countries. It is an important bridge for smooth flow of commodity and transportation for eastern and western banks of Ayeyawady River in Kachin State.
The Deputy Minister and party later arrived at Malikha Housing Project, being implemented by Urban and Housing Development Department in Myitkyina. After hearing the reports, the Deputy Minister instructed to provide necessary assistance for water supply, electricity and sanitation system as well as the safety measures.
