Regional development in Mon State: Upgrading of road, foundation laying of a new building

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, the State Ministers and officials inspected extension of road along Mawlamyaing University on 15th March and completion of upgrading of road and platform.

During his inspection, the Chief Minister called for beautifying task, systematic throwing of garbage and smooth transportation for the people.

On the 16th, the Chief Minister attended foundation laying ceremony of new 3-storey building of Kunta monastery and the Chief Minister and the State Ministers formally opened the ceremony.

After listening to religious sermons from the Sayadaws, the Chief Minister and party donated offertories to the sayadaws and monks and shared the merits.  At the auspicious time, organized by Sayadaws, the Chief Minister, the State Ministers and officials laid the foundation at the designated places and sprinkled with scented water.

The Chief Minister and party then attended presenting ceremony of a hall to Yadana elephant near the hillock of historic Lay Kyun Thitsashin NgaMauk Pagoda in Mawlamyaing.

The Chief Minister and well-wishers offered holy water and incense as well as donated offertories to the sayadaws and monks.

The Chief Minister, the State Ministers and well-wishers also sprinkled Yadana elephant and the hall with scented water and gave feeds.
