Regional Development: Meeting with personnel and townselders in Hpa-An

Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with departmental personnel and townselders in Hpa-An of Kayin State on Saturday.

Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo provided update reports on the preparations for the election, confiscation of illegal goods and combating efforts, implementation of agriculture, livestock breeding, fishery industry, food sufficiency, MSME development, tourism, education, health and sports sectors as well as the deportation of illegal immigrants, provisions to the displaced persons and plans for solar powered generation.

The attendees also reported on their needs for flood prevention, loan disbursement, tourism development, and increased incentives for the ethnic language teachers. The state level officials explained the work plans being carried out for their needs.

The Acting President discussed matters on solar powered generation, flood prevention and tourism development, followed by the explanations of the Union Ministers on work implementations. The Acting President later made a speech, highlighting the holding of election, education promotion and boosting production. Emphasizing the need to prevail peace and stability for economic development, the Acting President urged the local dwellers to prevent against the destructive acts in the state with collective efforts.

After the meeting, the Acting President viewed the display of MSME products and gave necessary instruction to the officials. They later proceeded to Kayin State Youth Center, and heard reports on work implementation and future plans. The Acting President instructed for efficient utilization of the facility, providing knowledge for benefit of the state. They then took a tour of the centre, observing the training of indoor games, conducting youth talks, vocational training, library, hostel and mess hall. The Acting President and party later took a tour around Hpa-An University and down town Hpa-An, and inspected the construction progress of Zwegabin Stadium.
