






Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe made inspection tour in Mandalay Region to oversee the cotton plantation and regional development works.
On Thursday, the Union Minister visited Min Hla Thazi Village in Pyaw Bwe Township, heard reports on implementation of Smart Village project, Emerald Green Village project and Responsible Business Fund.
The Union Minister said plans have been made to establish Myingaba Village as a smart village, providing infrastructures, inputs and financial assistance, vocational and rural economy, formation of strong organization, technological assistance, social protection and environmental conservation works.
He called for collaborative efforts fo local villagers for development of their village. On arrival at Man Yadana Cotton and Cotton Seed Factory, the Union Minister pledged to provide necessary assistance in operating the cotton mill under the cooperative system.
In meeting with staff from the departments under the ministry, the Union Minister instructed to abide by the regulations, having loyalty to the state, while participating in the public beneficial tasks. The Union Minister and party later proceeded to Kuto Village in Yamethin Township and met with the member farmers of Yadana Shwegu Cooperative Association.
The Union Minister instructed the need to strive for producing value added cotton products for reducing import of cotton thread. He called for collaboration amogn the department and farmers for development of cotton industry, while providing farmer educative activities.
During the meeting, cotton seeds and fertilizers were provided for 86 farmers who engage cotton farming in over 230 acres land plot. They then visited the village primary school, and provided the needs of teachers and farmers.
The Union Minister later inspected wine manufacturing in Ywatan Village, road construction in Yin Kwe Pin Village and construction of oil mill in Pyaut Khwe Village. During the inspection, the Union Minister instructed for timely completion of the tasks meeting the set standard.
