Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung received the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Mr. Adnan Cheema, at the meeting hall of the Mandalay Region Government Office on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they had a friendly discussion regarding the work undertaken by the Enabling Community Resilience and Recovery Project (ENCORE) in Myanmar. They also discussed the activities being implemented in Myingyan and Nyaung-U Townships of Mandalay Region, as well as the tasks to be carried out in Kyaukpadaung Township.
Additionally, they addressed efforts related to drinking water access, road paving, agriculture and livestock breeding, and the creation of employment opportunities in project villages.The Chief Minister expressed his welcome for UNDP's work in promoting social harmony among rural communities in the region, and assured the regional government's support for further activities by UNDP.
He emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance productivity of value-added agricultural and livestock products, as well as developmentof micro, small, and medium enterprises, in accordance with the guidelines set by the Chairman of State Administration Council.
He highlighted the importance of quality seeds, land, and technology, including international agricultural methods, for agricultural development. He further emphasized the region's willingness to implement projects that can bring benefits to rural communities.
