Regional Development: Agricultural works in Taung Twin Gyi Township inspected

Magwe Region Chief Minister  U Tint Lwin together with officials observed the pilot monsoon paddy plantation in Wachankar Village-tract of Taung Twin Gyi Township on 3rd August. He also met with the farmers and gave instruction for agricultural development.

The Chief Minister and party later inspected thriving long staple cotton planttion in Letpanshay Village, and met with cotton cultivators at the village monastery. The Chief Minister said efforts are being made to meet the target acreage of cotton cultivation and produce the quality cotton products according to the cotton development project in the region.

He urged cotton cultivatiors to make open discussions on their difficulties in implementing the development works. Next, the official from Township Agriculture Department clarified the progress of the long staple cotton cultivation in the township and local cultivators participated the discussion.

The Chief Minister then coordinated the necessaries and provided sunflower seeds to the cultivators.After wards, the Chief Minister and party arrived at the Taung Twin Gyi People’s Hospital where they encouraged the patients and met with health staff .

In the afternoon, the Chief Minister met with township agriculture supervisory committee members and pointed out that emphasis should be made to use correct cultivation method, to have access of water for agriculture purpose and to meet the target par acre yield. The committee members also made sector wise reports and the Chief Minister supplemented the necessary.
