Red Cross calls for temporary ceasefire

An official from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) called for temporary ceasefire and more sustainable aid support to the Gaza Strip, in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the enclave.
Due to a communication black out after Israel launched ground attacks and populated Palestinian territory, international aid organizations lost contact with their teams on Saturday. That includes the ICRC, which has been playing a key role in providing humanitarian assistance to the region.
Head of Communications for East Asia at the organization said that they are exerting every effort to help and needs sustained and unimpeded access for humanitarian assistance.
