Red Alert Warning: 7 townships in Rakhine State issued red alert

7 townships in Rakhine State have been designated the areas coded red alert due to the very severe cyclonic storm Mocha. The National Disaster Management Committee issued an announcement on Friday.

Mocha is forecasted to cross the Coast between Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh) and Kyaukphyu (Myanmar) near Sittwe (Myanmar) around 14th May.

Depending on the situation of cyclonic storm and possibilities of damages, Sittwe, Kyaukphyu, Maungdaw, Rathaetaung, Myaybon, Pauktaw and MannAung Townships were designated as the red alert areas.
