An explosion occurred on the Yangon-Mandalay Railroad, resulting in the derailment of a train on Wednesday. The incident took place around 7:42 am when the No.901 up-train, traveling from Ma Hlwa Kone to Myo Haung, arrived at mile post No.103/12-13 between Pein Zaloat and Kyaukdagar Stations in the Bago Region.

The explosion caused the derailment of three cargo coaches and the engine room. As a consequence, the No.11 Up-Train from Yangon and the No.12 Down-Train from Mandalay had to temporarily stop at Nyaunglaypin Station and Taunggu Station, respectively.

Myanma Railways promptly made necessary arrangements for passengers to reach their destinations. Local officials and security personnel are currently engaged in clearing tasks and repairing the railroad to resume rail operations as soon as possible.
